WOMEN ON THE FORCE RETURNS FOR EXTENDED RUN

Lambent and Harber 8 lock up 10-parter order from W

W has ordered a second, extended run of blue light ob-doc series Women on the Force.

The 10 x 60-minute order from the female-skewing channel follows last year’s debut, The Shift: Women On The Force which ran for six episodes from March 2019 and generated an audience of 200,000 (1.3%).

Lambent Productions and Harber 8’s show will again follow women working for North Yorkshire Police at every level and examine how they balance their working lives with their everyday lives out of uniform.

Women On The Force was commissioned by senior commissioning editor Helen Nightingale and channel director Adam Collings.

Nightingale said that the second run will “broaden the scope” of the show beyond its focus on the day in the life of a shift. “There are so many great stories to be told,” she added.

Ollie Tait and Dan Clark-Neal will exec produce for Lambent and Harbar 8 respectively.

Chief constable Lisa Winward, who heads up the North Yorkshire Police said:

“We’re proud to have a high proportion of woman in senior roles at North Yorkshire Police, but there is more to be done to encourage the next generation of women into policing and ensure we are truly representative of the people we serve.”

Broadcast 14th October 2020
