TEEN UNDERTAKER

Two teenagers with an unlikely shared dream – to work with dead people.

19 year-old Paul plays the trumpet and has a new girlfriend. But he spends his days preparing the dead for burial. He’s passionate about his job but is about to face the challenge of burying someone he loves.

18 year-old Laura is getting ready for a beauty pageant – but while she aims for ‘MISS NORFOLK’ she spends her days as a trainee undertaker. The juxtaposition of young people so deeply engaged with the end of life makes for a humorous, compelling and surprising film that asks life and death questions of us.

"Simon Alveranga’s quietly affecting First Cut documentary about young undertakers was fascinating, not just because of its Six Feet Under-style subject matter, but because both its subjects were so intriguing." Patrick Smith, THE TELEGRAPH
